Taylor Swift RED Tour Concert Review

okay so first of all I would like to apologize for how late this blog post is. I've been so busy with school work I haven't actually had the chance to sit down and write this. But without further ado I will FINALLY tell you about my amazing experience getting to see Taylor Swift live for the first time!
The even took place in the O2 arena in London on the 2 February 2014 (Capture It Remember It ~ if your a Swiftie you will know what I mean). This blog post may be a little bias opinion considering I am a HUGE Taylor Swift fan however I will try to give an honest opinion.

State Of Grace was the opening for the whole tour, she sang the song perfectly in pitch and I really enjoyed it. There was nothing too special or or out of the ordinary when she performed this song. Over all it was a pretty Basic performance to open up the show with.

Holy Ground was the second song off the set list and I have to say is defiantly my favourite, it was so unexpectedly spectacular! and a true performance, it was difference. During Taylor's drum solo (which was awesome) her dancers hung from the stage and drummed along with her, the dancers were in mid air! as well as moving up and down.

After Holy Ground she started to talk to us and at this point I was in tears. She is really good with words and has a very powerful way of making you feel appreciated, she defiantly keeps eye contact and really does know how to make the crown scream. She later took her guitar and started singing Red, this again was a truly amazing performance to watch she is such a natural when given an instrument to play in front of a crowd she can deliver a well paid for experience.

You Belong With Me was next on the set list and I have to say I was so glad she decided to sing this song again it is a timeless classic that should not go unremembered. The Performance was again simple and basic but again perfect for the song, I however still enjoyed her Performance of the song in the Fearless Tour (which is linked below)

The Lucky One was amazingly staged and choreographed to fit the song perfectly. There was also a video before she started to sing which really did capture the song and what it means to Taylor. The performance was very theatrical and gave us the right impression of what the song is all about.

Mean was an amazing song to bring back to the tour its a song every one can relate to no matter what. The performance was very similar to the one she did during the Speak Now World Tour. It was a very fun performance to watch especially considering she was playing a Banjo guitar and like I said before I strongly think she shines the brightest when given an instrument on stage.

22 was a fun song to watch her preform, it gave a very lively atmosphere as well as a happy one. The dancers were well choreographed as well as Taylor herself. I also really enjoyed seeing here actually have contact with her fans while being carried to the B stage, she did high five while going past them, what I also thought was smart was how the song continued on the B stage this gave people who were sat a bit further back a chance to see the choreography clearer.

On the B stage she sang the acoustic set which in all honesty I get the most excited about however she only sang one song Fifteen which is pretty awesome considering its probably one of my favourite song she has ever written.

Sparks Fly was a very interesting performance to watch and obviously there were sparks. She was carried from the B stage on a platform which took her to the main stage, she hovered around people who were only sat at floor seating which to be honest was pretty disappointing as she did not come near me and I really do envy anyone sat closer to her. however he performance of the song was still really good.

The next song she sang was I Knew You Were Trouble this was an amazing performance and very similar if not identical to the one she did at the Brits in 2013. This performance had everything from a costume change in the middle of the song to hot backup dancers in masks, it was again very theatrical and well laid out. It was a spectacular performance and I was not disappointed, it really did meet all the expectations I had for the song.

All Too Well is the most emotional song I have ever heard, I was very happy she choose to do this on the piano and also happy she choose to give a very striped down performance of the song. The song is so powerfully written it does not need a big performance, the song speaks for itself and its very obvious it came from a place of hurt. The eye contact she delivered as well as the pauses made the music and the lyrics echo through your mind. By looking at Taylor perform the song you can defiantly see by her facial reactions this song comes from the heart and with the way she performed the song, I can honestly say even today the performance still echo's through my mind.

Love Story like You Belong With Me is a timeless classic that I hope she never stops singing at concerts. This performance was one of my favourites, it was like allot of all her performances very theatrical and I really enjoyed seeing her as well as her backup dancers come out of a music box, she really does know how to stage a show.

Treacherous like All Too Well was a very simple performance which in my opinion gave the song justice. Like All Too Well the song speaks for it's self.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was the final song off the set list and I have to say was a great song to end the show with. The performance had a circus theme and the backup dancers were amazing. Taylor really gave an amazing performance. Confetti fell from the sky to conclude the show.

Over all I really did enjoy the show it was defiantly one of the best nights of my life!. The dancers were amazing and it was without a doubt the next stage up from the Speak Now World Tour. Most if not all of the performances were theatrical and staged perfectly and appropriately. It was better than I could ever expect and Taylor has truly outdone herself . I was very surprised by the fact she took no breaks while performing I was astonished at how fiscally fit and in shape she is and by the fact she could sing and dance at the same time without being out of breath. I am from now going to start saving up for front row tickets and back stage passes to the next tour she does because at the end of the day it would be worth it.

Although I really really did enjoy the performance I was very disappointed by the fact she did not sing Stay Stay Stay, Begin Again, Starlight, Everything Has Changed, The Last Time, Sad Beautiful Tragic and  I Almost Do  I was really hoping for an acoustic cover of Begin Again (which I know for a fact she performed in the USA)

And finally I personally believe she did not sing enough during the acoustic set, One song is not enough Taylor is truly amazing when handed a guitar and I was very disappointed with the fact she only did one acoustic song!? I wish she would have done at least 2 more

Anyway over all I did really enjoy the performance and I honestly can't wait till her next album (which is rumoured to come out at the end of this year) and tour.

Lana xx
